General Terms and Conditions

This contest is open to anyone over the age of 16, whose mother tongue is not Spanish.

The period for entering in the micro fiction contest closes on the 30th of November 2016. The next day, the 1st of December 2016 at 12pm (Madrid time) the voting period for the best micro stories begins and every visitor of the website will be able to cast a vote until the 15th of December 2016 11am (Madrid time). The 10 stories that have the most votes on the 16th of December 2016 will be the winners of the free Spanish courses and the Spanish Course discounts. The story with the highest number of votes will receive the first prize, a free 2 weeks Intensive Spanish Course; the story with the second highest number of votes will receive a discount.

The prizes consist of free Intensive Spanish courses, as they appear on our web site, and discounts for the same type of course. The prizes do not include accommodation. The prizes can be claimed at anytime between the 9th of January 2017 and the 15th of December 2017 in Escuela Delengua, Granada (Spain).

If you cannot make use of your prize, it is possible to transfer the prize to a third person who fulfils the conditions to participate in the contest.

The winners have to inform Escuela Delengua a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the date they want to have the course. Remember that courses run Monday through Friday.

The participant guarantees that personal data sent in via the form is correct and authorizes Delengua to use it in accordance to the Spanish Data Protection Act. The participant authorizes Delengua to publish his/her micro fiction followed by his/her name and his/her country of origin.

Delengua will not accept micro fiction containing racist, sexist, discriminatory connotations or infringing on the rights of third parties, stories containing advertising or which can be considered spam. Moreover, Delengua may correct grammatical mistakes before publishing the micro fiction.

The participant declares to be in possession of the story's copyright and guarantees that it has not been published nor rewarded in another contest. The participant guarantees that the submitted micro fiction is not a translation of a story originally written in another language, nor a modification or a fragment of another story originally written in any language, absolving in this way Delengua of liability in that regard.

Participating in this contest involves assigning all rights of the submitted story to Delengua.

Delengua reserves the right not to select a winner if it is considered that minimum requirements for participation or quality have not been achieved.

Winning a prize does not automatically include obtaining a visa, in the case that this is necessary in order to enter Spain. In this case, it is the responsibility of the participant to carry out any necessary procedures to the nearest Spanish consulate or embassy. The decision of granting the visa is at the discretion of the consulate or embassy and is not the responsibility of Delengua. A refusal of the visa and, therefore, the impossibility of entering Spain implies the loss of the prize without having the right to any compensation.

By submitting the completed form, or a tweet, the participant accepts these terms and conditions. Non-compliance may lead to exclusion from the contest.

Any conflicts which could possibly occur as a result of this contest will be solved by Delengua in compliance with the present terms and conditions and at its own discretion.
