Following the great success of the 2012 Micro Fiction Contest dedicated to Flamenco, the Spanish school Escuela Delengua in Granada, Spain is launching a new micro fiction competition dedicated to the typical cuisine of Granada in Andalusia, Spain: `tapas’. Just write your Micro Fiction as a comment.

In our school, situated at the foot of the historic quarter of the Albayzín, we know that Spanish consists of more than just words: it is culture formed by experiences and a way of living. Because of this, our competition is open to everyone worldwide who is interested in Spanish language and culture. The winners will receive a free Spanish course in our school. So get involved! One of the free Spanish courses in Granada could be yours!

What is micro fiction?

Micro fiction is a story with a maximum length which still contains the essential elements of narration. These include one or more characters acting in a more or less settled time and space, according to the traditional idea of introduction, climax and resolution.

The Spanish school Escuela Delengua in Granada, Spain, celebrates its 15th anniversary (1997-2012). For this reason, and also for celebrating the first anniversary of the UNESCO's declaration of flamenco culture being part of the intangible heritage of humanity, we would like to announce a micro stories contest.
Our Spanish school is situated at the foot of the oldest quarter of the city of Granada: the Albayzín, one of the centers of flamenco art. For this reason, we want to add a special tribute to this cultural manifestation of universal significance through a contest open to everybody worldwide interested in Spanish language and culture. The winners will be provided a free Spanish course in our school. Get ready to take part! One of the free Spanish courses could be yours.

What is a micro story?

A micro story, also called flash fiction or mini narration, is a story of a predetermined maximum length which still contains the essential elements of narration: one or more characters acting in a more or less settled time and space, according to the traditional idea of introduction, climax and resolution.
